Champions Again!

9/6/2014

Having already won the county mini-sevens title, our super girls 9-a-side team added  the County Mayo cumann na mbunscol Division 2 trophy to their collection  on Thur. 5th June when they defeated local rivals Barnacarroll in McHale Park. The game was played in excellent conditions before an enthusiastic group of supporters and both teams served up a fine display of football, with the Bekan girls coming out on top thanks to five first-half goals which gave them a cushion for the latter half of the game. Despite a determined second half performance by the Barnacarroll girls, Bekan were able to tag on the points to keep them at bay until the final whistle. A fitting finale to the year for a great group with a brilliant never-say-die attitude. Táimid go léir bródúil asaibh!
