But the internet isn’t always bad. People use it for research, homework & communication. Sometimes there are numerous people who pose as young children and make friends with vulnerable children.
If you are under thirteen you are legally not allowed to use social media platforms. Therefore it is crucial that teenagers understand the dangers of social media and never share any personal information about you or your peers online as you can never take it down. Also keep all your social media platforms on private so only your real friends can see your posts!!
Then there is also online bullies called cyber bullies that try to put people down by saying mean comments & sharing bad photos. If you ever get cyber bullied then Stop ,Block &Tell. Let us explain what this means Stop texting the sender, block them & Tell a trusted adult and screenshot the evidence in case this keeps going on.
Always remember to follow ‘The Granny Rule’. The Granny Rule is if you are about to post something online and you don’t know whether to send it or not use the Granny Rule. The Granny Rule is a simple system to use, all you have to do is think “would granny like to see this?” If granny wouldn’t mind seeing it then go ahead and post it. However if granny would mind seeing it then don’t even think twice about it- simply don’t send it!!
