Planting Sunflower Seeds

20/3/2015

In February we planted sunflower seeds and learnt about the life-cycle of a seed.
We learned that seeds need water, sunlight, soil, heat and air to grow.

First we needed plant pots, a big bag of soil, one seed each and a 1/4 of a cup of water.
We filled the cup 3/4 full with soil. We made a hole in the middle with our fingers. We our seed in the pot. We covered them over with soil and then patted them down. We added a 1/4 cup of water. We put our pots in the window sill so that they would have the best sunlight, heat and air.

Our plants are growing every day. One month on, they have become strong, healthy shoots. We water our sunflowers every second day.

We are so excited to continue watching them grow.
